What is MCT Oil? MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides. MCTs are fats found naturally in coconut and palm kernel oil. They're more easily and rapidly digested than other types of fats, as they require lower amounts of enzymes and bile acids for intestinal absorption. Because MCTs go directly to the liver, they're metabolized and released as energy. MCT Oil acts like a carbohydrate (fuel for the body) to provide the necessary energy and calories but, unlike carbohydrates, MCTs are not stored as fat by the body.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 tablespoon (15 ml) 1 to 3 times daily. Alpha Supreme MCT Oil can also be used as a substitute for conventional oils. It can be mixed with fruit juices, used in salad dressings, sauces or added to smoothies as a source of beneficial fatty acids. Not recommended for use in frying or high heat applications.
